Holton Celebrates Spring Sports

Four athletes were inducted into the Holton Athletic Association (HAA) and 17 members of Holton's spring sports teams were presented awards on Tuesday, May 24 at the Spring Sports Banquet. The four new members of HAA are Mya Harris '16, Lea Berthiaume '17, Annelise Kotz '17, and Jayla Frith '17. Congratulations to Anneliese King '17 for being announced as the next HAA President.

Highlights of the season include varsity softball being named the co-champions of the regular season. Track and field's Haley Butler '16 finished third in the ISL championship track meeting with a high jump of 4 feet 10 inches. Varsity crew saw success throughout their season including a novice 4+ Washington Metro Interscholastic Rowing Association Championships. Varsity lacrosse finished with their best record in recent years, 11-9 including impressive wins against Stone Ridge, Holy Child, St. John's, and Collegiate.

Awards for Most Valuable, Most Improved, and Coach's Award were presented to athletes in varsity Crew, JV & varsity lacrosse, JV & varsity softball, and varsity track. Annelise Kotz '16 (lacrosse), Lillian Baker '17 (softball), and Olivia Daneker '17 (softball) were also named to All-League AA ISL.
