Greetings All,
I hope that your week has been a good one. This early version of the weekend building hours offers a sneak preview at the long holiday weekend ahead. Let me be the first to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable weekend. Please note that the building will be closed on Monday, October 10, 2016 in recognition of the Fall Break Holiday. Take advantage of that extra day off and endulge in some mental tranquility objectives. Yes my friends, simply sleeping late can serve as one catalyst towards that goal. I will be on a little vacation hiatus for a bit, but as always my thoughts will never stray far from the Blue and White. Thank you for all of the well wishes today my friends. In closing, before departing for the day please allow me to share a few thoughts with you.
1. The Holton School Flag Flies High
You will recall that several weeks ago I alluded to the fact that our beloved Holton-Arms School Flag had been retired due to natural wear and tear. We can now rejoice as a new flag has arrived and now flies proudly at the front circle. How appropriate that during Spirit Week we can once again take pride in this treasured symbol of our school community. Go Panthers.
2. The Impact of Hurricane Matthew
I am sure that you are aware of a major hurricane that is now impacting the coastal Southeastern Region of the United States. At last report, Hurricane Matthew was upgraded again to a Category 4 storm with the potential of inflicting significant damage. For those of you who were planning on venturing anywhere due south this weekend, please heed any alerts and stay tuned to changing weather information. Be prepared to adjust your travel itinerary if necessary. It appears that the Washington Metropolitan Area will be spared any significant ramifications from this event. However, even with that positive information it never hurts to stay informed.
Thank you everyone and take care.
