Varsity soccer's Maya Valmon '20 has been selected by the Holton Athletic Association (HAA) as "Panther of the Week" for the performance, character, and teamwork she has shown throughout the season.
The first day of preseason was not only Maya Valmon's first day of Upper School, it was her first day at Holton. She was meeting new coaches, classmates, and teammates and trying to figure out her way around. It was clear to anyone watching that the one place Valmon wouldn't get lost, was on the soccer field.
Valmon's incredible pace is difficult to miss, but it's her heart and determination that has separated her as a leader. Her coaches comment that these characteristics are what helps her impact each and every game. Her "no quit" attitude is contagious and help inspires those around her. "Her ability to get by defenders and race down the sideline to serve the ball into the box creates numerous opportunities each game" say her coaches. Last week, her constant effort resulted in two of her own goals helping Holton to a 3-0 victory over Georgetown Day School.
