Holton Trustee, Nicole Lamb-Hale P'18, Named Holder of the Chair of Howard University's Public Policy Lecture Series

Holton Trustee, The Honorable Nicole Y. Lamb-Hale P '18, has been named the Holder of the Chair of Howard University's Gwendolyn S. and Colbert I. King Endowed Chair in Public Policy Lecture Series for the 2016-2017 academic year. The five-part lecture series is titled Pathways to Commercial Diplomacy and will leverage Lamb-Hale's expertise and contacts in global affairs to expose Howard students to current issues and career opportunities in international trade and foreign affairs. "I am excited to contribute to the programming at Howard University, one of the oldest and most prestigious historically Black universities in the United States, particularly in the year that it celebrates its sesquicentennial," said Lamb-Hale. "I look forward to exposing Howard University students to the breadth of opportunities in international trade and foreign affairs by sharing my experiences, and those of many distinguished professionals, in the commercial diplomacy arena."

Currently, Lamb-Hale is the Managing Director of Kroll, a global business advisory firm. Prior to joining Kroll, she was a Senior Vice President at Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategy consultancy. She is a former Assistant Secretary of Commerce in the International Trade Administration and former Deputy General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Commerce. Before her government service, she was a Partner in two major law firms. Her other professional affiliations include serving as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Alliance for Jobs and Innovation and as a member of the Council of Foreign Relations. Lamb-Hale received her A.B. with high honors in Political Science from the University of Michigan and J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Past Holders of the Chair include Richard D. Parsons, former Chairman of Citigroup and former Chairman and CEO of Time Warner, Congressman Elijah E. Cummings and Elaine R. Jones, the first female President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
