The fall sports seasons came to a close on Tuesday, November 15 as the teams gathered for the annual fall banquet. Twelve athletes were inducted into the Holton Athletic Association (HAA) and 28 members of Holton's fall sports teams were presented awards. HAA president, Anneliese King '17 welcomed the new members into Holton's oldest club. Congratulations Olivia Daneker '17, Alexandra Fraser '17, Ceci Gichner '18, Kate Gusek '18, Taylor Lawrence '18, Rayne Layton '18, Elizabeth Marsh '18, Christine Padalino '18, Isabelle Ross '18, Raeva Sayed '17, Ariana Soltany '17, and Alex Steelman '17.
Highlights of the season include varsity tennis going undefeated and being named the regular season and tournament champions. Varsity cross country took home a championship trophy at the Montgomery County Private School Championships. For the first time in recent history, every varsity team earned home field advantage to start the tournament. Varsity volleyball finished the regular season and tournament in second place. After finishing the regular season in fourth place, varsity soccer finished second place in the tournament. Varsity field hockey had a strong season including going undefeated for the first six games, a come from behind win against Holy Cross, and a big 5-1 win against Potomac.
Awards for Most Valuable, Most Improved, and Coach's Award were presented to athletes in varsity cross country, JV & varsity field hockey, JV & varsity soccer, JV & varsity tennis, and JV & varsity volleyball. Congratulations to all teams for a very successful fall. Go Panthers!
