Middle School students and Mirabal exchange students from Spain kicked off this holiday season with a snow village house build STEM event on November 28 and 29, 2016.
The girls learned how to maneuver a Cricut electronic cutting machine and worked with the online design space to create houses on a computer. Once the girls selected their chosen house design, the Cricut machine then printed cardstock house pieces for the girls to begin constructing their houses. After the house pieces were assembled, the girls placed finishing touches on their creations with either conductive paint and/or using LED lights.
The primary goal of the snow village house build was for the girls to learn how to build simple circuits, install LED lights, and how to seamlessly design on a computer to build a finished product.
You can visit the Marriott Library now and throughout the entire month of December to see the wonderful snow village display and enjoy the depth of creativity from our students. Happy Holidays!
