Greetings All,
I hope that your week has been a good one. One week down and two to go before the Winter Break. Remember that positive outlook whenever the days seem to crawl along slowly. Should you happen to forget, never fear because I will constantly remind you.
Once again the Holiday Season is indeed upon us. I reflected on that point yesterday when conveying the traffic challenges facing Downtown D.C. We can all concur that this time of the year represents a number of traditions and accompanying festivities. The damper on that otherwise bright perspective, is the fact that incidents of nefarious behavior also increase during this time. More specifically, crimes of opportunity are abound regarding reports of theft and similar property related crimes. We have discussed this in the past, but during these hectic weeks be mindful of items that you leave inside your vehicle. Packages piled high resembling Santa's Sleigh is never a good look for your personal vehicle. While you shop take the time to properly secure items so that they are not in plain view. Be equally mindful of purses, bags and wallets as well. Do you remember the very skillful Artful Dodger in Oliver Twist ? It is all about empowerment my friends and minimizing your chances of becoming a crime victim.
The weekend building hours for December 3-4, 2016 are posted below. Please note that the building will officially open at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday with security personnel on site a bit earlier in support of SAT preparations. On that same day, the building will officially close at 6:00 p.m. However, once again security personnel will be on site until the conclusion of the Holiday Ball later that evening. Rumors concerning a dance-off to the tune of Frosty the Snowman have now been widely discounted. Simply have a wonderful night everyone.
On behalf of the entire Facilities Department, I would like to wish all of my colleagues a very safe and relaxing weekend. We continue to thank you for your ongoing support and look forward to seeing you on Monday.
Thank you and take care.
Ken
