What Does It Mean to be American?

On February 9, 2017, Holton's Black Student Union and Landon's Multicultural Student Alliance had an evening discussion centered around the question, "What Does It Mean to be American?" Everyone in both school communities were invited to the event to share their own views. Over 20 Upper School students discussed this in-depth topic for an hour and a half and shared ideas, opinions, hopes, and fears of what their definition of what is to be an American today. The riveting conversation allowed Holton and Landon students to both support and challenge each other's opinions within the context of engaging dialogue across different backgrounds.
