The fifth grade was invited to a special presentation by journalist Cokie Roberts on Thursday, March 2 at Politics and Prose Bookstore in Washington, DC. Roberts discussed her latest book for young readers, Ladies of Liberty: The Women Who Shaped Our Nation. She spoke of the many untold stories of women who helped build our country from its earliest days.
Sixteen fifth grade girls participated in this optional trip on what was actually a day off for them since it was the first day of Parent Teacher conferences! It was a packed house with many school groups and adult fans in attendance! The girls were thrilled to spend their day off learning about such inspiring women!
