Over the past several years, it has been a privilege to share a few words with the Senior Class prior to the arrival of Commencement Day. This year will be no exception as I wish to take a moment and acknowledge this important milestone in your lives.

First and foremost, you are to be commended for all that you have achieved in reaching this pinnacle. There were indeed times when arriving at this point seemed distant and the journey appeared cumbersome. However, in reality most roadways are not neatly aligned planes. There are occasional curves, awkward turns and unforeseen impediments. Those dynamics reflect the basic characteristics involved along the adventurous timeline of life. When seeking to establish a measure of success, remember that it does not matter how you began, but rather how you finished the race.

While the memories will be numerous, one of my cherished moments was always having the honor to greet you each morning. Whenever you entered the doors of Holton-Arms, it was always the hope of the security team to ensure that your day would be a positive one. A prominent and consistent objective in any school community should be the commitment to maintain a safe and secure learning environment.

Ironically, while the pathway to adulthood brings many freedoms, it also requires a greater sense of personal responsibility. Attempting to establish that vital equilibrium can be one of our greatest challenges. Enjoy life to its fullest, but always empower yourselves with the discipline to make sound decisions.

Never forget that you can call this campus "home." We will indeed await your return visits with open arms. I wish each of you the very best in your ongoing educational endeavors. Believe me, there are many lessons to be learned that will continue far beyond your years of schooling. Gain wisdom from your experiences and remain engaged in the efforts to give the world your all. Take comfort in knowing that when accomplishing that goal you can proudly hold your head high.

On behalf of the entire Holton-Arms School Security Office, Mr. Wilson and I would like to congratulate the Class of 2017. In closing, I want to thank everyone for all of your tremendous support.

With Fondest Regards,
Mr. Bryson and Mr. Wilson
