Our Third Graders Learn About Holton from Ms. Jones!

Did you know that Holton's mascot before the panther was an armadillo? Did you also know that basketball was one of the first sport teams at Holton?

Fun facts like this and much more of the history of Holton-Arms was shared by our Head of School Ms. Jones with our third graders today in the Simms Reception Room. This yearly tradition of Ms.Jones sharing the School's history with our third graders covered historic Holton information from its inception in 1901 to the current day traditions of the School. The newest Holton class asked questions about our dear founders, Jessie Moon Holton and Carolyn Hough Arms, and even asked if Ms.Jones was on the Blue or White team (she is neutral if you are wondering). As the history lesson came to an end, Ms. Jones left the girls with this sentiment from our founders, "I hope that you will feel that Holton is your second home."
