Lower School Grade 5 Language Arts Teacher Mrs.Hill McFadden shares with The Scene about Grade five recent outdoor ed adventure to Camp Calleva on September 26, 2017!
On Tuesday, September 26, Holton's fifth grade headed to Camp Calleva for a day of outdoor education. With a focus on teamwork and encouraging and supporting each other as they were challenged with new independent and team tasks, the girls were split into five groups and sent out to participate in four elements – two high (elements that challenge girls to climb high and support each other) and two low (focusing on team building and communication).The day ended with a wrap up session where teams gave "shout outs" to each other for challenging themselves to try new things. It was a great first field trip!
