Varsity swimming and diving's Olivia Jubin '19 and Wynter Bramao '21 have been selected by the Holton Athletic Association (HAA) as Panthers of the Week!
As a returning standout to the swimming and diving team, Jubin has already proven herself to be a valuable all around swimmer. Last season, Jubin could be found swimming shorter sprint events, where this season she swam distance. This depth of talent allows Holton to use her in a variety of ways to earn the most for her team. Once again, Jubin played a huge role in the team's overall success this season. Over the last three championship weekends, Jubin did all she could to help Holton finish first. At the ISL Championship, she not only finished first in the 200 free and 500 free, but achieved All-American consideration times, and broke the school records in both events. The following weekend at WMPSSDL, she placed first in the 100 free, and was a part of the winning 400 free relay and the school record breaking, automatic All-American 200 medley relay team! Last weekend at the METRO Swim and Dive Championship, Jubin again finished first in the 500 free and 200 medley relay.
Freshman Wynter Bramao, was out to prove herself as a first-year member of the team. As a diver, Bramao has a specialized way to help her team earn points. She delivered one of the best performances for a Holton diver in nearly 15 years at the recent championships. At the ISL championships she finished in third place, and at WMPSSDL she finished in fourth. These top finishes, along with the other divers who placed, earned points that figured into the team score that ultimately brought home both championships! Bramao also finished seventh at METRO's, which is the best finish a Holton diver has had in many years. Bramao's commitment to her team and strength of her craft made a huge impact throughout the season.
Congratulations to Olivia Jubin '19, Wynter Bramao '21, and the entire varsity swimming and diving team for a wonderful 2017-18 swim season!
