To enhance their study of neuroscience, the sixth grade class had the pleasure of learning directly from a real-life neurosurgeon, Dr. Randy Bell, father of Elsa '24. Dr. Bell connected what the girls have learned in class with his experiences in the operating room. The girls really knew their stuff! They "wowed" Dr. Bell with their ability to identify all of the parts of the brain. In addition, they shared their enthusiasm and curiosity by asking questions about the many aspects of neurosurgery. Taking it one step further, the girls eagerly grabbed their scalpels and face masks as Dr. Bell and Ms. Eby guided them through a sheep brain dissection.
