Grace Wu '19 received an Honorable Mention for her film "Think of the Children" in C-SPAN's 2018 StudentCam competition. Grace's accomplishment is quite extraordinary as there were only 150 prize winning documentaries out of 2,985 entries in the competition - the most entries in the fourteen years of the competition. Entries came from 46 states, as well as Washington DC, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates.
On May 24 during Morning Assembly in Upper School, Vanessa Torres from C-SPAN presented Grace with her award. Head of School Ms. Jones as well as Grace's family were there for the special moment.
In addition, Grace was also one of five winners of C-SPAN's "Behind the Scenes" Photo Competition which honored students for the quality of the photos and captions they shared on social media. Below is Grace's submission from her interview with Rep. Raskin.
