Greetings All,
I hope that your week has been a good one. September continues to move along as we inch closer to autumn. There are now pumpkins on full display in front of many markets. All we need is a tall glass of cider for the full effect. We continue to be very fortunate with respect to the impact from Hurricane Florence. I am sure that many of us have observed the scenes from the coastal areas of the Carolinas. Hundreds of thousands are without power and there have been numerous rescues. If you have loved ones or friends in that region, we certainly wish them the very best. In the midst of these challenging conditions, there is a heartwarming note. A van transporting rescued animals from the hurricane broke down in route to this area. Good Samaritans arranged for the vehicle to be repaired and temporarily housed the rescues until the trip continued. In the contentious environment often surrounding us, such stories of goodwill are indeed refreshing. The weekend building hours for September 15-16, 2018 are posted below. Provisions are in place for weekend activities including the evening sessions of Capital Educators. Numerous area road construction projects remain ongoing throughout the weekend. If you are traveling be mindful of those zones and accompanying traffic delays.
In closing, let us take a moment to "tip our hats" to the Washington Mystics. The Mystics ascended to the WNBA Championship series for the first time in team history. Despite losing that series, we proudly salute their very memorable season.
