Greetings All,
I hope that your week has been a good one. Friday has arrived with an accompanying fresh taste of autumn. I was certainly caught off guard without a jacket this morning. If this weather pattern continues, we should have a very pleasant weekend.
Although the school year remains relatively young, we can already acknowledge the numerous accomplishments of our girls. Those achievements span across various components of their Holton-Arms experience. We all maintain specific responsibilities within this very vibrant school community. However, at the same time we are also stewards tasked with the responsibility of ensuring that experience remains a positive one. Those efforts within this increasingly challenging world have never been more important.
The weekend building hours for October 13-14, 2018 are posted below. We have some rather busy days ahead, but provisions are in place for our campus activities. Please note this includes the SSAT and HAMUN events among others.
Once again before closing, I will take the opportunity to offer some personal reflection. The nation's first museum dedicated solely to law enforcement officially opens tomorrow. The National Law Enforcement Museum is located at 444 E Street, NW in the Judiciary Square section of downtown. The structure built mostly underground is easily accessible by Metro and other public transportation options. Just the other day, Jeff and I shared some thoughts and great pride in seeing this project being finally completed. The evolutionary history of law enforcement in the United States has been a complex one. That journey has often intersected with many defining chapters during the growth of this nation. While serving as a visible display of human experiences, the visit should also provide opportunities for public engagement on issues of impact.
