I hope that your week has been a good one. The temperatures are dipping, Halloween approaches and an active weekend awaits us. It is that time of the year when we proudly represent this very special community during our Open House. In support of that event, we are already aware of the special protocols concerning off-site parking, shuttle arrangements and personal property security. Concerning the issue of property, a check-in of personal items will be available at the front desk. The ability to safeguard our possessions offers an easy remedy to numerous potential issues. We have encountered great success with this measure and I strongly encourage it.
The weekend building hours for October 27-28, 2018 are posted below. Please note the special building hours for Open House weekend. Building hours will be extended on Saturday to allow for any event preparations that might be needed. On the day of the event (Sunday), accessibility to the building will be available beginning at 8:00 a.m. Special provisions are in place for activities that will be occurring earlier that day.
In closing, please allow yourself ample time for your commute on Sunday. We can expect traffic volume on campus to increase rapidly as we near the beginning of Open House. Keep in mind that other area events are also occurring on that day. Prominent among those activities is the 43rd running of the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM). Major street closings will accompany that event so be cognizant of possible traffic delays along certain routes. Further information regarding the MCM is available at the following link:
