Greetings All,
I hope that this week has been a good one. Jack Frost is indeed nipping at our noses and everything else. Believe it or not the weekend ahead is expected to be even colder. The very important key word in that phrase is weekend. Considering the present weather conditions, perhaps simple hibernation is the best option for the next few days. Once again we have completed another active week with events galore. A note of gratitude is extended to the Parents Association for the wonderful collection of "Sweet Treats". I did not get a chance to witness the much anticipated Lip Sync presentations, but I heard some amazing reviews. Rumors that I was going to attempt Selena Gomez's Same Old Love should be quickly dispelled. Rounding out the week we even paused to say "Happy Birthday Holton-Arms". Thank you to everyone who continue to make this community a very special place. Let us not forget to send out a huge Panther Salute to our girls competing in activities this weekend.
The holiday weekend building hours for February 13-15, 2016 are posted below. Please note that the building will be officially closed on Monday, February 15 (President's Day). Take advantage of that extra day and just relax. A little serenity is never a bad thing. We all deserve that. On behalf of our good friends in the Facilities Department, I would like to wish all of my colleagues a safe and enjoyable weekend. Be careful as you travel about by keeping an eye out for potential slick spots.
In closing and to launch us into the weekend, let me offer a brief moment of levity. The other day I was standing in line at a retail store, when a fierce debate erupted in front of me concerning the meaning of Valentine's Day. The two participants went back and forth over the true validity of the day, commercialism and the definition of love. Yes, it was a pretty heavy discussion for a check-out line. In the middle of that historic exchange my mind began to drift. Hmm, I wonder if the Visitation Girl that I had a crush on in the 10th Grade still remembers me? I attempted to impress her by going out for varsity football. That did not go so well and going to class with my leg in a cast was no badge of honor. Alas, the adventures of love. One certainly does not need a special day to convey sentiments of affection. In the end it is always nice to simply know that somebody cares.
Have a great weekend everyone and take care.
Kenny
