Join the varsity and Middle School Ice Hockey Teams for an afternoon on the ice at Cabin John Ice Rink on Wednesday, February 17. Girls will depart Holton after school at 3:30 p.m. and have the opportunity to work with the varsity and Middle School athletes and learn how to skate, shoot, and handle the puck. After the pucks are put away, there will be a chance to everyone to enjoy the time on the ice during a free skate. Pick up will be at 5:45 p.m. at Cabin John Ice Rink.
3:30 p.m. - Students depart Holton for Cabin John Ice Rink
3:45 p.m. - Students arrive at Cabin John and rent their skates. Members of the team and parents will be there to assist in sizing and tying.
4:15 p.m. - Varsity Ice Hockey skills demonstration
4:25 p.m. - Students join the team on the ice to learn more about hockey (*In order for girls to participate in this part of the program they must be wearing hockey skates, which are available to rent, and bring a bike helmet from home)
4:45 p.m. - Sticks and pucks are put away and everyone is invited on the ice for free skate - that includes family members!
5:30 p.m. - Everyone off the ice and skates are swapped with shoes
5:45 p.m. - Parents pick up their daughters at Cabin John Ice Rink.
Throughout the skate, light snacks will be provided by the parents of the varsity and Middle School Ice Hockey team. When you pick your child up, please feel free to stop and chat with them about getting your daughter involved with ice hockey!
