Varsity basketball's Annelise Kotz '17 has been selected by the Holton Athletic Association (HAA) as "Panther of the Week" for her performance, intensity, and leadership throughout the season.
Kotz is the only four-year member of the varsity team. This tenure comes with the experience of playing in two different ISL divisions, under two different head coaches, and with countless of teammates who have graduated from Holton. Kotz knows the sweet taste of victory and the bitterness of failure. Through it all, one thing has kept her focused; the desire to push herself and her team to be their very best every day.
In a recent games, Kotz continues to put forth her best work. No matter how hard the other team tries to slow her down, Kotz pushes forward. She put up 22 points against Potomac School, 24 against St. Stephen's St. Agnes and a career high 29 points against Washington Latin. For a player who more often than not records double doubles, Kotz's contributions are more than her stats. Kotz was selected as a captain both her junior and senior year, along with teammate Nora Apt '17. With Apt by her side, Kotz has helped to lead the team on and off the court. She is the one her teammates can count on day in and day out. As her coach puts it, "Annelise has a competitive spirit that drives this team each and every time they take the floor. Her will to win, intensity, and leadership skills are irreplaceable. Annelise has the heart of a champion and is the glue that keeps this team together."

This will be the last time Annelise and fellow seniors, Nora Apt, Lillian Baker, Meghan Hunter, and Jayla Frith take the court at home. Be sure to come out and cheer for their senior night!
