Middle and Upper School Math Teacher Alessandra King shared with The Scene the results of the AMC 8 competition, which is an examination given by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) American Mathematics Competitions (AMC). According to the MAA website, "The AMC 8 provides an opportunity for middle school students to develop positive attitudes towards analytical thinking and mathematics that can assist in future careers. Students apply classroom skills to unique problem-solving challenges in a low-stress and friendly environment."
We had 59 Middle School students participate in the competition - and Caitlin W. '22 was announced as our School winner. She also got into Honor Rolls, which is the top 5% of participants worldwide! Congratulations!
