Wow, a sunny Friday has never been more appreciated. I hope that everyone had a safe commute yesterday during our periods of inclement weather. Conditions varied throughout the region as we accelerated from autumn into the middle of winter. I have to admit that I was personally unprepared for those rapidly changing conditions. Using an umbrella to remove snow from your vehicle is a unique sight indeed. Desperate times call for desperate measures my friends. This is a good time to prepare yourself for the winter in terms of essential accessories. Winterize your vehicle by checking appropriate fluid levels and by all means have the proper tools to remove snow or ice. Please keep an eye on that gas gauge also. Remember that area traffic havoc and delays can confront us at anytime. During times of wintry weather on campus, watch your footing and exercise general caution. Our colleagues from the Facilities Department will always do their very best to keep our surface areas clear and safe. Always remember that should you encounter any areas requiring attention, never hesitate to advise us of that. Your ongoing patience and support is greatly appreciated.
We will talk again early next week about the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday building schedules. It is my sincere hope that everyone takes the opportunity to enjoy some quality moments with family and friends. These contemporary times seem to consume us with so many distinct challenges. Finding comfort in the things that we hold true and dear serves to refresh the soul. No, I am not trying to sound transcendental, but simply imploring everyone to embrace the better things in life.
The weekend building hours for November 17-18, 2018 are posted below. Provisions are in place for all of our weekend events. Once again we have some active theatrical days ahead of us. If you are attending the MS production of Charlotte's Web we wish you a very enjoyable evening. We extend a huge note of thanks to our colleagues in the Head's ,Business and Admission Offices for a wonderful breakfast. That gathering offered us a great segue towards the weekend. In closing, we witnessed the dynamics of positive engagement with our generous Thanksgiving donations for the Community Ministries of Rockville. Thank you to Emily Wilde and all of the dedicated participants behind those efforts.
