The whole school community came together this month to share holiday cheer with area families in need. Students, faculty, staff, and families donated enough food to provide 80 Thanksgiving dinner baskets and $2,575 in grocery store gift cards to Community Ministries of Rockville (CMR), which serves the most vulnerable residents of Montgomery County.
Members of all three school divisions participated in the drive by giving not only food and funds, but also their time. Volunteers packed meal baskets, loaded the delivery van, and dropped off donations at CMR.
"I want to thank all the students, faculty, and staff who contributed," Head of School Susanna Jones said at the all-school Thanksgiving assembly on Mon., Nov. 19. "Thanks to all of you, many families who would not otherwise be able to do so will enjoy a bountiful Thanksgiving."
