Light bulbs were illuminating left and right in the Lower School hallways the past few weeks as sixth graders dreamed up and researched creative ideas for renewable energy. Students shared their concepts at the Second Annual Energy Innovation Showcase yesterday, March 18.
Before a crowd of parents, peers, teachers, and school staff, girls presented posters on and discussed ideas ranging from streetlights made of bioluminescent plants to plastic-trash-eating, plastic-trash-fueled submarines, from energy-generating roads to workout-powered iPods. Students showed off all they've been learning about various types of energy, their research skills, and their creative problem-solving.
Prizes were awarded for various categories, including Most Creative and Most Practical.
